I remembered the first time I lost a pet, I wrote a paper on in school. I was asked to read it outloud... I started crying while reading (in highschool) I was so emabrassed and when I looked up to face the class when I was finished, almost everyone had tears in their eyes nodding there heads in agreement on how hard it is to lose a pet. Have fellow pet lovers support you when going through this is what really helps. I know its hard, but like cathy said you have those fond memories to looked forward to.

I'm sorry for your loss. i've been there though...in 2003, my cat of 12 years died. he was fine until one Friday he started breathing strange and by Sunday he had died. I think they said he had an enlarged heart. plus he was pretty old. but I was devestated. He was the first pet I ever had...we got him when I was 3 years old! I probably cried for three days straight. I get so attached to my pets...thankfully, we got another cat just a few weeks later so that was really helpful. now I have three pets and I can't bear the thought of losing any of them!
