I just want to rant and say I hate the army right now. My husband just got back from being in Kuwait on Sunday night and has only been back at work for 2 days and already has been told that come the first week of Oct he will be heading back for another 6 months. Thanks for wanting to have him spend some time with his son and wife!

GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! Major Rant time..... So My boyfriend and I have been watching this house for the past 2 years when it got forclosed on. My great aunt and uncle built the house in 1929. Its a log cabin and there are 4 acres left with it. Its a beautiful house. 7 years ago when my aunt and uncle passed the house was sold to one of Matt's Family friends. (Small World) Matt and his dad helped do a lot of renovations on the house. 3 bedroom, 2 bath, living room, huge kitchen and family room. With all the wood trim and exposed log cabin beams. It has a new roof, new siding, new windows and a 3 car garage. Like a dream come true... The guy that lived there was forclosed on 2 years ago.... He was finally evicted in April and the house went up for sale a little less than 3 weeks ago. House went up for sale on a friday, we met with the realator and saw it on Wednesday, made an offer Thursday morning. This was 2 weeks ago.... have been calling everyday this week asking for an update and no calls back... Finally today he called... The house was originally listed at 50,000.... Now the bank has decided to raise the price to 59,900.... after 3 bids have been placed!!! I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MAD!!! How in the world can you tell someone its being sold for this much then decide after bids have been made... oh I feel like changing the price but waiting 2 weeks to tell you!!!!!!! GRUMBLE I really wanted that house it was like family history and Its time Matt gets a house of his own that is big enough for a family

I am so angry that my hands are shaking and there are spots in my eyes!!!! I found a solution to Sally's and my anti-pink bag matching problem in similarly styled bags, so I bought a Mod Floral Blue Morgan for me and a Java Blue Hannah for Sally. It's not MFP so it doesn't exactly match, but it's what she wanted.
Anyway...This morning around 10 I had to leave Sally with my brother and his wife, so I could take one of the rescue dogs to the emergency vet. The dog was dying and had to be put to sleep, and it was hard enough for me to deal with without having to explain it to a 4 year old. Sally and Anthony have a long history of mutual adoration, so they were both happy when I dropped her off.
Anthony evidently neglected to tell his wife about the last-minute baby-sitting, because when this woman dragged her sorry ass out of bed at 1p.m. and saw Sally in her living room, she went ballistic, picked up Sally's purse, took a lighter AND SET THE BAG ON FIRE!!!! When he realized what was happening, Anthony tried to stop her, but the damage was done before he got it away from her. Then he took the lighter, grabbed Sally, and got her out of the apartment.
Andrea (is a worthless, psychotic cow) just set it on fire because she's mad at my brother. They have been married for 3 years and have had their share of issues. Anthony can be very irritating at times, but he's also one of my best friends and helpers, and Sally's favorite (only) uncle. NOTHING he says or does to Andrea gives her the right to take it out on my (or any) child! Sally has no idea what she's done wrong, or why "Aunt Andrea hates me". She wants to go back and help her aunt or "say sorry for being bad", and cried herself into an asthma attack when we wouldn't take her. Anthony is still here with us, making macaroni and cheese and rice krispies treats from scratch because it's Sally' favorite junk food, and still trying to figure everything out. Sally's asthma attack and breathing treatment wore her out and put her to sleep.
If my dog had told me yesterday, "Hey, I think I'm going to fall off the back steps, have a seizure and die tomorrow, OK?", I would have been more than happy to give Andrea 24 hours notice about my childcare needs, or I would have asked Anthony to come to my apartment instead if I'd known it was going to bother her to the point of traumatizing my 4 year old child. I can understand being mildly irritated about the last-minute baby-sitting (It's not like the dog and I were off having a party, though!), but why take whatever issues she's having out on my kid and my brother? What the fuck (sorry) did Sally or Anthony do to deserve this? Sally was happy to sit on the couch and watch movies with Anthony, making almost no noise so Andrea could stay asleep. Andrea has been unemployed by choice for over a year, and my brother is working three jobs to pay all of their expenses and still barely making ends meet. He terrorized me throughout our childhoods with the usual older brother stuff and then some, but he and I have moved past it and he deserves better than to have the overwhelming burden of Andrea for a wife.
I am so angry at Andrea, but I am so thankful that Sally and Anthony are both (physically) OK, and that Andrea went for the bag first instead of my daughter or my brother.

So, it is always something with me...
I was in Nashville this weekend to visit family. We usually stay with my parents or grandparents, but I reluctantly agreed to spend one of the three nights with my MIL. This was our first time traveling with the babies since they were born. They were 5 weeks old, so you still have to worry about the whole if they run a fever they would have to be admitted to the hospital and all these tests run starting with spinal tap etc... Well my dh's step dad who works for the housing authority in the projects come home talking about how he has been around these sick people all week and isn't feeling good. GREAT! ALL I NEED IS TO BRING MY KIDS INTO A HOUSE WITH SICK PEOPLE. A house, by the way, that is over 250 years old and needless to say is not in the best shape.
To make matters worse, my BIL comes over the next morning and the first thing he starts talking about is how he has had GI issues for 3 days. (This type conversation over breakfast, mind you.) Oh yeah! Guess who used his hands picking up biscuits and bacon to fix his plate (FIRST), the sick step-dad!
SO>>>I spend my entire Saturday with my two babies in the bedroom with no TV, no internet, nothing! It kinda upset me that even my dh wouldn't take the initative to say "Hey guys, you aren't feeling so good and we have little kids that we don't want sick. We will have to catch you next time."
Well, besides the sick people, the whole point of staying with them is so they could spend time with the kids. My MIL was totally useless. She fed my daughter an ounce of her 4 oz bottle before she decided she was full. I had to finish it 30 minutes later after she went to bed. All day Saturday, she didn't so much as come in the bedroom. She was too busy doing other things around the house. We had this issue with our first child too! We bent over backwards to go see her then she never bothered to even play with her. The entire time we were there, she never held my son. I think she touched his foot once. What a waste of time! She drives me absolutely nuts!
The icing on the cake...thankfully the twins slept in the pack-n-play that we brought from home because Adam, Hallie, and I are covered in flea bites from sleeping in their beds. I'd be livid if they were on the babies too!

Ugh! I take the public bus everyday to get to and from school because I am 15 blocks away off campus. There is a shuttle run by STJ, but it comes once every hour and is timed terribly so that you are guaranteed to either be late to class or have to wait around for an hour on campus. The regular bus comes every 3-7 minutes depending upon the time of day. Needless to say, I don't mind paying for a metro card. Today, one of the drivers had the nerve to announce over the loud speaker that we should not be taking the bus, and that we should be taking the STJ shuttle instead. I understand if there is some crazy problem with too many students or whatever, but guess what! That is the problem of the MTA, not the riders, because I pay over $80 a month so that I can take the bus/subway as many times as i want- myself and many STJ students are paying the salaries of these bus drivers! I cannot be late to class everyday. I walk when I can but sometimes I don't want to be all sweaty and gross when I get to class! If he has such a problem with students as regular bus riders, complain to some higher up or to the university! Clearly someone needs to provide more buses/shuttles. Rant done.

I just want to say that I hate when I buy something or sell something and the other party will not communicate with you! I bought something on Ebay Aug. 26, paid for it as soon as I won the auction and just now recieved the item last Friday!! The people never answered one email from me until I threatened to open a case through Ebay if I did not recieve my item. Then they tried to act like I was a liar and had already recieved it!! Oh you talk about pissed!!! I kept every record of that sale and I am a genuinely honest person so it really burnt my bacon that they had the nerve to call me a liar AND request that I revise the negative feedback I left about them!! What freakin NERVE!!!

Jamie that happened to me on FB kinda. It was the first time I'd bought something on there. Until I paid her she answered all of my questions promptly. But she never let me know that she received my payment, when she shipped or anything! I friend requested her and she didn't respond until after I got my bag! I hooked up with her on VB's page and even posted a question there to see if she would answer me, and another girl posted that she was doing the same thing to her! I don't even think it took a week from the time I paid unitl I got my bag and it was in the conditon she promised but it kinda made me nervous!

Allie I so agree with you and Nancy too! I love this board so much because we all have a common intrest (more in common with some than I thought!) and are so honest with each other. I really think this is the greatest group of ladies ever! I was thinking last night about Christmas coming around the corner and you would not believe how many girls from this board are on my list! It is going to be so fun to surprise these ladies with a gift in the mail that I can hardly contain myself! How wonderful to have a place to buy, sell, trade and talk Vera. I am so thankful for this board and all of my friends here!

It pissed me off so bad when I read this I almost cried!! I am so sorry this happened to your beautiful Sally It saddens me so much to think that a grown adult could act so childish!! Ooh this redneck girl would love to get my hands on that woman for about 5 seconds!! She would never want to see my face again!! What she did to that child is the next thing to child abuse in my book!! I sincerely hope your brother can see it in his heart to find someone else. He has to deserve better than her!! Please give your little Sally a hug for me!! What a little cutie!!! Again I am so very sorry that this happened to her.

So, here is my rant for the day. I had to run to town for 1 thing at the store so I just decided to go to the grocery store that is 2 minutes from the house. Well, guess what? They didn't have it. All I wanted was plain old Prego spaghetti sauce, my husband's favorite. I had to go down town to another store to get it. Then when I was waiting to pull out, (with a line of traffice behind me) 2 cars decided to pull in at the last second. Ever heard of blinkers?! Anyway. I am almost home and got in the turning lane and the post man was stopped in the oncoming lane, but the car behind him wouldn't stop and wait on him to move and came into my lane! Grrr. I couldn't exactly whip back in the other lane because an 18 wheeler was behind me. I made it between them somehow. I don't think that little escort wanted to play chicken with me, I drive a crew cab diesel truck! Oh, and then my husbands paycheck wasn't in the mailbox. Late for the 4th week in a row. I love this rants thread.
