I have had big feet since birth and finding shoes that fit well and were age-appropriate has always been something of a challenge. My mother and I were sharing shoes when I was in kindergarten. Her feet stopped growing at size 7, but mine didn't and I am up to a size 14EEEE! I gave up on wearing women's tennis shoes years ago (no big deal since the only real difference is color anyway), but I really need some new flats or something to wear on the few occasions in my life when it is inappropriate to wear running shoes. I have one pair of black flats that I found just in time for my high school graduation in 2003 and they are holding up really well because I wear them so infrequently, but I would like to find a simple style that fits well in a few other neutral colors to increase the variety in my dressier wardrobe. The only things I've found online so far are dance shoes or shoes for track and field athletes. I don't run unless I'm being chased and I am not going to start tap class until after the baby is born, so those won't work for me right now (or for church, dinner at The River Cafe' or Brian's graduation and swearing-in).
I'm not too picky, really. I just need a non-athletic shoe or sandal that has a back, a heel less than 2 inches and comes in a color other than black. If I can find one that fits, I will buy it in every color.
Does anyone else here wear a size 13+ shoe? Where do you shop for dress shoes?

I feel your pain, kinda. Depending on the shoe, I wear either a 10 or 11. One of my friends finally learned to start looking for sizes before she showed me cute shoes! Good luck with your search. I think I've seen on Zappos.com they carry extedned sizes?

Ah, 10 and 11. You're lucky, Nancy. I long for the 'good old days' when my feet were that small, somewhere back around sixth grade/1997, lol. The foot on the Shrek trek shirt was drawn nearly to scale.
The last dress shoes I tried to buy from Zappo's were long enough from heel to toe, but too narrow. It's really frustrating because widths seem to vary from brand to brand. One 14EEEE pair I bought from Zappo's fit well, but the others were way to narrow. Now all they have are shoes for track and dance.
My baby sister (19 soon, she makes me feel old) wears a 10 I think, and I know she finds a lot of shoes in all styles at Dillard's or _____ (that store at Wolfchase next to Claire's - Journeys or Pacsun?), and a few other of the boutique-y mall stores. Charlotte Russe is a favorite of hers, I know.
