and my 17 year old daughter Megan and I have been collecting VB for about a year and a half and we already have a nice size collection. It's a fun mother/daughter hobby! We are lucky to have a signature store located at Somerset Mall right in our city. We can't go shopping at the mall without stopping in at VB.
My latest purchase was last week at the birthday party. I got a saddle up in pirouette with matching cosmetic bag, zip around wallet and checkbook cover. I am waiting for September before I start using it. Right now I'm carrying a HG Lisa B.
My daughter's latest purchase was a weekender in CP. I bought it for her in June and so far it has been to Disney World, band camp, sleepovers and right now she has it with her on a camping trip with a friend's family at Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. That is a great travel bag and I want one for myself, but am having a hard time justifying it as I have a really nice carry on bag that matches my luggage. Maybe they will be on sale soon in the patterns they are discontinuing making them in!
These boards look like a lot of fun and now I have to find my way around and figure out how to use them!!

Don't you love Somerset - such a beautiful mall. Your mall dates with your mom sound like fun and I love it when my daughter asks to go shopping with me. Did you go to the party last week? I went on Wednesday and it was crazy. My daughter and I had been to the one before that in the spring and it wasn't nearly as crowded. I see you have a Kalamazoo reference. I have a son who goes to WMU. He is an education student and is starting his 5th year (the good old 5 year plan)! I don't think he ever wants to leave Western or Kalamazoo.

My favorite sales lady is Cheryl. Her and I are on a totally first name basis and we found out that we share the same birthday!! She also knows my daughter's name. They are all nice there. I stopped back in the store on Thursday afternoon because I wanted to get one of those patchwork envelopes (which they were sold out) and they told me that they were going to do the party that night differently than Wednesday because of the crowding. She said they were going to split it into 3 parties and the whole event was going to go from 6 to 9. I think my son's goal once he graduates is to move to the pacific northwest. I would be surprised if he stays in Michigan. Plus, it will be hard to get a teaching job here. I don't know if he loves Kalamazoo that much or if it is more that he likes being on his own. He hasn't come home for the summer since after his freshman year - only weekend visits. I know he gets really bored when he is at home. He is in a fraternity and has so many friends at school so there is always something going on. Plus his girlfriend graduated this spring and works in Portage and she has decided to stay in Kzoo with him.

LOL

Yes, I'm Matthew's mom. I just sent him a text asking what sorority Desiree was in and then I was going to reply back to you. So obviously you know he is in delta sigma phi. Do you know Desiree's roommate and friend Emily? If you do, here's a funny story. I worked with Emily's sister about 5 or 6 years ago at a law firm in Birmingham. Her name is Sara and I don't know how she figured it out - probably saw pictures or something on FB and told Emily that she used to work with Matt's mom!

He'll think I'm nuts!! Have you ever participated in any of those SVF things? I'm thinking about possibly doing one. I don't know though - I'd be nervous about picking out really good things and worrying that my gift wouldn't quite measure up!! Sounds like fun though.

How nice that you love to buy your mom Vera. You must convert your sister. It's funny though - either you really love Vera or you don't. Some people think they are kind of old lady looking, but I remember the first time I saw them in a hospital gift shop and I thought they were cute but not that stylish but they have really come a long way since then and now there are so many wonderful fun patterns and the styles just keep getting better. My preferences seem to be all over the place. I just bought a saddle up in pirouette and I love the classic look of that pattern, yet I love cupcakes pink and have a few pieces in that and think it is so fun and cute. Did you read through this thread and see that I met Erin who just happens to know my son in college? Hopefully we will chat again soon. These boards just seem to have such a happy and nice vibe to them. I think I will enjoy coming here.

Sounds like fun though. i actually JUST participated in my first SVF! i would highly recommend it! i was nervous at first, too...but, really, it's not as daunting a task as you may think. you get plenty of info about your SVF and it'd generally pretty easy to pick out things they'll like.
